Nancy Tapio is a licensed Funeral Service Practitioner in the State of Oregon and worked at a local funeral home in Grants Pass for over 10 years prior to becoming Manager at Hillcrest Memorial Park in 2014. Before moving to Grants Pass in 2004 from Temecula, California, she worked in a one-person office, running a cremation society in southern California. Nancy “stumbled” into this profession after re-locating to take care of an ill family member. After coordinating and overseeing her first service, she knew this was the profession she was meant to serve and has felt honored to work with hundreds of families since.
Nancy grew up in Joliet, Illinois and graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. After teaching Special Education for three years, she returned to school, graduating with honors from the University of San Diego’s graduate-level Paralegal Program. Her work experience includes 8 years working as a Probate and Estate Planning Paralegal, in addition to being a Trust Officer in financial institutions for over 10 years, administering trusts and estates. She is also a graduate of Cannon Trust School at Pepperdine University.
Nancy has two sons who also live in southern Oregon, as well as a granddaughter with whom she tries to spend as much time with as possible since she is the “light of her life”. Nancy also enjoys exploring the vast beauty of the Pacific Northwest, going on trips to the coast, camping and going to professional ball games in Portland and Seattle when possible. Nancy has been a member of the Soroptimist International of River Valley in Grants Pass for many years, serving on the Board and as Chairman of the Scholarship committee.
